Bell Ringing
Bells
We have bells in most of our churches - in fact it is an ancient legal requirement for a parish church to have at least one bell to summon the people to worship.

All Saints Church, Down Ampney and Holy Rood Church, Ampney Crucis have a ring of six bells which can be pealed for weddings, public occasions and before services.

Our other churches have one, two or three bells, which can be chimed.

We have an active and enthusiastic group of bellringers at Ampney Crucis. Practice night is on a Monday from 7pm and if you are interested in taking up bell ringing - you would be very welcome to come along and be shown the ropes!

Work in progress
We have three bells at Poulton Church, which were originally at Poulton Priory:

Richard Roberts and William Tipper 1643
David Moulder and William Lane 1736
Giles Horsewell and Thomas By 1671
